The Dork Circus
Once the Jewel of the Summer Kingdom, from where Reshi Stormlord reigned over the whole of the Feywild. Taken by Orcus and his Darkest Army during the war that shattered the Summer Kingdom, until a conglomerate of four Greater Gods formed an alliance to save the planes from the Demon Prince.
When the Hosts of the Gods marched against the Darkest Army, they defeated Orcus and set free his slaves. Orcus was cast down, falling from Cendriane through the Natural World, the Shadowfell, the Elemental Chaos, and down into the depths of the Abyss. Thus the three planes have been weakened in Cendriane and the surrounding forest, causing so much of the strange phenomena witnessed in the Great Wildwood Forest of Mithyria.
Over two thousand years after the Fall of Cendriane, the Horned Empire sprung up in the southwest of the Feywild, around Tiefling survivors from the Fall of Bael Turath in Soltana of the Natural World. It expanded relentlessly, with the voracity of humankind, until finally its outflung tendrils touched the ruins of the old city, and began rebuilding it. Though several attempts at permanently settling the ruins failed, and a reputation began to build up around the Haunting of Vor Rukoth (the Tiefling name for the city), the strange energy of the city kept bringing back more adventurers…until finally a Tiefling named Najala built the Infernal Gate and summoned devils through it to help her gain control over the energies of the city. The devils immediately sensed the spoor of demons in the city, and began hunting. Soon the Blood War had engulfed Vor Rukoth—devils throughout the Horned Empire suddenly broke their bonds and rushed to the city to take part in the conflict, leaving the Tiefling empire open to attack. The Horned Empire fell within the year, and the Blood War in Vor Rukoth raged on for dozens of years before an uneasy truce took hold in the city. They say that devils still congregate around the Infernal Gate, and demons still dwell in the Nightmare Forges, to this very day.
